# Navigation
## How to Navigate this Toolkit
This toolkit has been designed to make it easy for the reader to move about freely, and jump to any particular section as needed. However, we have attempted to organise it along a logical sequence (inspired by the [NESTA Open Book of Social Innovation](https://www.nesta.org.uk/report/the-open-book-of-social-innovation/)) that roughly represents the life-cycle of a project or an initiative:
1. **REFLECTION** - turn to this section to read about the 'Leave No One Behind' pledge and reflect the concepts of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion
2. **DIALOGUE** — turn to this section to explore why engaging in dialogue is an important first step towards understanding issues of equity, diversity and inclusion in your initiative, and to find tools and resources to help you facilitate an internal team discussion or engage with the wider community
3. **INSIGHT GATHERING** — turn to this section to discover facilitation methods and tools that can help you gain a deeper understanding of who may be left behind in your own context, by exploring lived experience, geographical context, and existing roles and inequities
4. **PLANNING** — turn to this section to find frameworks and checklists to help you ensure your outreach and engagement activities are conducted in an ethical way, and that your Citizen Observatory practices are equitable, diverse and inclusive
5. **OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT** — turn to this section for practical guidance and resources on how to reach and engage specific communities and groups who may be underrepresented or hard to reach in your Citizen Observatory
6. **CO-CREATION & CO-PRODUCTION** — turn to this section to find out how you can involve diverse participants more deeply in the design and delivery of your initiative, moving beyond data collection towards genuine collaboration and shared ownership of the research process
7. **EVALUATION** — turn to this section to find guidance and hints and tips on how to evaluate your efforts to be more diverse and inclusive, and to ensure that your reflection and assessment process is itself participatory and equitable
### Section Structure
The title page of each section introduces the topic with a description of its contents, followed by question-led sub-pages that:
* describe why that question is relevant, and
* how to get started,
* list useful resources
* provide example case studies (when available),
* provide links to other relevant sections of the CitiObs Toolkits, and
* provide a list of references
Over time we will continue to add resources and case study examples, and welcome any contributions that you might have, or suggestions of what might be missing. Just [drop us a note in this form](https://citiobs.eu/contact/), and we'd be be thrilled to add your suggestions to the toolkit!
